A block storage maps a cloud disk such as an AWS EBS, an Azure disk or a GCP disk. 

Block storages can be auto-mounted as the working or reference volumes for RosettaHUB Virtual Labs, Data Science Labs or Big Data and HPC labs. A cloud disk can be mapped by more than one block storage allowing for a fine grained access control.
