Launch an image

  1. Scroll to Images on your dashboard, click on the image that you want to launch

  2. If you cannot find the image that you want to launch you can create a machine image based on any cloud machine image by following this guide

  3. Leave Spot Machine selected if you want to launch a Spot/Preemptibe Instance, if you want to launch an on-demand instance select Machine

  4. Input a label that will help you recognize your Machine

  5. Leave Keys unchanged to your default keys

  6. You can change the size of root volume, the default value if the minimum required value for the selected image

  7. Select the capacity that you want to launch, In this case we chose a p2.xlarge which has a spot price of $0.2982. The spot prices reflects the market spot price that can vary throughout the day depend on availability.

  8. Leave the Maximum bid price unchanged.

  9. Leave manual shutdown selected, you will have to shutdown your instance after your finish using it

  10. Click launch

  11. A formation is automatically created for you. If your spot request if fulfilled you will see a green tick on the top left corner of you the newly created session.

  12. Right click on your session and select "Get Connectivity Info", a new windows will open with instructions on how to connect to your machine
